Abstract

Reproductive traits (i.e. clutch size, newborn size, age at reproduction, reproductive effort and behavior) is a key life-history trait, with direct consequences on physical fitness. Here we provide data about the clutch size, the incubation time of a pregnant female and the incubation four eggs in the laboratory, as well as morphological data and behavior of the newly hatched of Kentropyx calcarata from an individual captured in the wild in the Atlantic Forest biome in the northeast from Brazil. Clutch size was similar to that described for individuals from the Amazon rainforest and cerrado enclaves in the Amazon; the hatchlings were slightly smaller in size than those described for the Amazon forest and relatively similar as the Atlantic Forest.
