POLÍTICA E CIDADANIA: RELAÇÃO ENTRE TEORIA E PRÁTICA OBSERVADA JUNTO À COMUNIDADE UNIVERSITÁRIA

Abstract
This study is about to know the community surrounding a federal educational institution. The origin of the theme derived from a discipline present in the curriculum of the Pedagogy course of a federal educational institution located in Goiânia, State of Goiás. The training provided at this institution is aimed at promoting Social Pedagogy. Given the above, academics are constantly encouraged and motivated to scientific production. Thus, in view of the result of the production of the final work in a discipline, this study, part of a larger production, gives voice and opinion to society regarding the presence of a new physical campus inserted in its surroundings and the expectations of access and participation. In addition, among other objectives, we sought to understand with the participants the understanding of concepts of citizenship and politics. In view of this, the case study was used as a methodology in order to know and map the reality of the surroundings to enable the institution's actions with the community, in particular, derived from the undergraduate course in Pedagogy. The research had the participation of fifteen participants who answered a questionnaire that included the expectations with the new institution in their coexistence and the understanding about politics and citizenship and the possible actions to be demanded by the Pedagogy course. After applying the questionnaire to individuals, members of the local community, the data were analyzed and the results were presented in three categories of analysis. In conclusion, it was observed that most people have little knowledge regarding the services provided and offered by the federal educational institution and the Pedagogy course. On the other hand, the community perceives the presence of the institution as a benefit for all people in the surroundings.
